Goodbye 2021 before we welcome in 2022

2021 was certainly a year I couldn't have for seen what would happen and some months were certainly busier than others and I couldn't have done it without help and support. Many thanks to all my customers, suppliers and other professionals that I've worked alongside.

The year started well being selected as a winner of Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday.  This started the year well and I can't wait to meet up with other winners in February 2022 in Birmingham.

February saw an awful time when my neighbours 3 Springer Spaniels were stolen from their home.  A massive social media campaign was launched and the news went viral quickly seeing the return of the older 2 dogs, Jazz & Robbie.  But there was no sign of Keedy.

In April we were awarded Luxlife Best Healthy Dog Treat Company in Yorkshire award which was amazing for a small business.

May brought some super news when Keedy was tracked down over 300 miles from home. His owners collected him to complete their family again.

During the spring we worked with 2 brilliant photographers for professional photos for the new website and ahead of Muddy Dog Day that was still in the ideas stage!! I loved working with both Rowan from Pooch & Pineapple and Hattie from Paws and Tors.

All Autumn plans were going into the first ever Muddy Dog Day which took place on 30th October.  This was an amazing day were the day ended up trending on Twitter thanks to everyone who shared the day. I was blown away not made easy by being at Living North's Newcastle Christmas Fair.

The website was updated by Rosie of Wuf Design to bring a much fresher look and better functionality.

I've loved taking Distinctive Pets back to Christmas Fairs this year and have visited Living North in both Newcastle and York, a very local one at Burton Agnes Hall, Beverley Christmas Festival, Durham Christmas Market and Country Living in Harrogate.

To finish the year Distinctive Pets was awarded the Yorkshire Prestige Award for Pet Product Specialist of the Year.

It's been an amazing year with fantastic customers both online and at the Christmas Fairs. All those mucky pups over social media in October and some really supportive businesses helping me get it right.

There are a lot of plans for improvements and additions in 2022 so watch this space.
